Volunteers’ Week: Mark’s story

Mark became a Rowan volunteer two years ago, and has helped out in various areas including transport, drama and ceramics. With his own interest in arts as a painter, and a diploma in teaching adults with learning disabilities, Rowan was a perfect fit.

‘It’s a very happy place,’ says Mark. ‘I love it. The staff are really supportive, very skilled in their different fields and I enjoy the environment here a lot.’

Mark often works to offer students one-to-one support. ‘Rowan is inclusive of people with many disabilities and it is very pleasing to see people flourish in such a good environment.’
