Tablet fun
Rowan’s learning-disabled students are very pleased to be using some new equipment this week. Donated by Irwin Mitchell Solicitors, these new tablets are transforming the way we work in the studio.
Our first task has been to ensure every student has had a chance to use them and we have all been learning how to take photographs and navigating our way round all the different things available. We have made a film – which is probably not ready for YouTube yet! – and have been downloading a number of drawing apps for students to use in their work.
The tablets allow students to stay with colleagues in their studio rather than waiting for a member of staff to take them to a computer in the other room. This means that the overall level on continuity in teaching and management of classes is maintained, creating happier studios and students.
