Rowan welcomes guests for Summer Open Evening

On Friday 14 July Cambridge based charity Rowan opened their doors for a Summer Open Evening. Welcoming friends, family, students, volunteers, and esteemed guests.

“It was wonderful to see our studios alive with supporters ahead of Cambridge Open Studios” says Chief Executive Office Cherie Evans. “Thank you to Deputy Lieutenant Mr Daniel Schunmann DL for attending as well as the Mayor of Cambridge Jenny Gawthrope Wood. It is important for us to take the opportunity to welcome friends and supporters to Rowan throughout the year so they can see the importance of the work we are doing for adults with learning disabilities.”

“I thoroughly enjoyed the Rowan Summer Celebration” said Jennifer Gawthorpe Wood, Mayor of Cambridge. “Meeting enthusiastic clients and teachers and seeing amazing artwork which led to great conversations. It’s such a warm and welcoming space and Rowan deserves to be celebrated. They really are part of the community welcoming and supporting so many people, often with diverse needs. We are lucky to have Rowan in Cambridge.”

The next day Rowan opened their doors for the annual Cambridge Open Studios, welcoming over 170 people. Guests were able to visit the studios, see current artwork in the making and projects, as well as buying unique artwork made at the arts centre.

If you missed visiting Rowan, why not visit their online shop: All artwork – Rowan (rowanhumberstone.org.uk) where you can find a range of artwork for sale from their studios.
