Mixed media

In the Mixed Media workshop, student artists use a wide range of materials and techniques, such as drawing, painting, collage, felting, sculpture, and textiles to create both 2D and 3D artworks. Students are given the opportunity to explore the endless possibility of materials we can source and work on ever evolving projects and briefs. This workshop encompasses a combination of students self-led projects and making items to sell in the shop to raise money for Rowan.

Mixed Media is led by tutors Lima Rose, Sa’adiah Khan and Stef Lucszcak throughout the week.

Before joining Rowan in 2010, Lima volunteered at Headway and Mind, both supporting and running art workshops. Lima enjoys working 3 dimensionally and has a passion to work with felt. Lima is driven to facilitate the creation of artworks which allow her students to express and process their emotions and improve their wellbeing.

Stef joined Rowan in 2024 and runs mixed-media on a Tuesday.

Fridays tutor, Sa’adiah is an intuitive and community artist, facilitating creative wellbeing and mixed media workshops with various organisations. Sa’adiah has a degree in fine art and printmaking, her ethos is: “Keeping creativity and curiosity alive” so she loves to combine her love of upcycling, psychology & play with her own art and in her work with others.

If you would like to be creative and use a wide range of materials – why not become a student?
