Rowan has been awarded £10,000 from the Arts Council’s Let’s Create Jubilee Fund by Cambridgeshire Community Foundation – ensuring that creativity plays an important role in local community celebrations for Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The Let’s Create Jubilee Fund will ensure that thousands of people from communities all across England will have the opportunity to take part in exciting creative events – all in celebration of the Platinum Jubilee. From puppetry and story creation, through to making crowns, carnival and art trails, there will be a huge range of exciting activities for people of all ages and backgrounds to get involved in.
Rowan is running Jubilee themed creative workshops for students with learning disabilities throughout May and will be holding an afternoon tea party on Wednesday 8 June, 1pm – 4pm. Everyone including staff, students, volunteers, and the local community are invited to join us at Rowan, 40 Humberstone Road, Cambridge, CB4 1JG for this event. We will be providing refreshments, music, Jubilee themed workshops for all and a pop-up shop. It promises to be a great afternoon celebration.
