The Fitzwilliam Museum visits Rowan

Behind the glass!

This month we had Alison from the Fitzwilliam Museum visiting Rowan to show student artists a handling collection of studio pottery. It was a fantastic opportunity to see and touch items that would normally be behind the glass.

Alison said: “It was a really lovely session in the pottery studio and a good number of the students were able to handle and draw from the pieces, they did some great drawings. The handling collection was given to our team, by the keeper of the applied arts department, and represents a selection of studio potters whose work is on display at the museum.”

It was lovely to have you with us for the morning and we look forward to many more visits in the future!
